After graduating from the Faculty of Media in 1975, he worked in the news exchange department at Jordan Television. After obtaining his Master's and PhD degrees in media policy from the United States of America, he returned to work as a professor and head of the journalism and media department at Yarmouk University in Jordan.
A few years later, he served as a media consultant for the population media program at Johns Hopkins University in the USA, and then moved to work for United Nations organizations, starting as a regional coordinator for UNICEF, and then as the director of information in the organization's office in Yemen. From there, he moved to become a regional advisor for Arab countries at UNESCO. After that, he served as a consultant for population communication for Arab and European countries at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), then became director of the Fund's office in Egypt and Lebanon, and later was responsible for following up on the Fund's program modernization plan in New York. During this period, he prepared and implemented developmental media projects and programs, as well as training courses in various communication fields across many Arab, European, and African countries.
He also worked as a media consultant for the Qatar Social Foundation in Qatar. He was a member of the Higher Media Council in Jordan, and he prepared and presented a weekly interview program on the foreign channel of Jordan Television. Finally, he held the position of Dean of the Jordan Media Institute for Graduate Studies.
He currently works as an independent media and communication consultant.
